Role Overview
We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in a fast-paced retail and distribution environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with Kenyan tax regulations, and supporting overall financial operations.
This role requires a tech-savvy and adaptable professional who is comfortable working with ERP systems and automation tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax laws, including VAT, PAYE, and statutory filings
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Utilize ERP systems (e.g., Odoo) to manage accounting functions efficiently
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes through automation and system optimization
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies when required
Qualifications & Experience
- CPA (K) – Fully qualified or at least CPA Part III
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience
- Experience in retail, distribution, or a similar fast-paced environment is an added advantage
- Proven experience using Odoo ERP or similar accounting systems
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
