Accountant Team Lead

Our client is a well-established international business with a significant footprint across Africa. They are seeking an Accountant Team Lead to oversee financial reporting, taxation, inventory accounting, and compliance activities across multiple entities while leading and developing a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of two in accounting 
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across SADC entities.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and internal reporting requirements.
• Oversee SARS income tax, VAT, and statutory submissions.
• Drive month-end, year-end, and audit processes.
• Manage inventory, warehousing, and stock accounting controls.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and strengthen financial controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial performance and reporting.
• Leverage SAP HANA to enhance reporting efficiency and data integrity.

• Relevant Accounting or Finance qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior accounting or finance leadership role.
• Proven experience managing cross-border reporting within the SADC region.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.
• Experience with SARS income tax and VAT compliance.
• Exposure to warehousing, inventory, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
• Advanced SAP HANA experience is essential.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
