Strand - My client, an established building supplies retailer is seeking a proactive and organised Administrative Assistant and Sales Support professional to join. This is a full-time, office-based position offering an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing both administrative and sales support. The company operates from warehouses with offices, trucks, and delivery vehicles.The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the team on a daily basis
  • Manage correspondence, maintain accurate records, and prepare various business documents
  • Perform filing, data capturing, and general office administration duties
  • Handle incoming calls, respond to enquiries, and welcome clients and visitors professionally
  • Assist with sales administration and customer service support
  • Coordinate deliveries, process orders, and assist with basic logistics administration
  • Ensure efficient office operations and support the smooth running of day-to-day business activities
Sales Support Responsibilities 
  • Assisting the sales team with quotations
  • Order processing
  • Updating customer information
  • Following up on inquiries
  • Communicating with customers in a professional manner
  • Supporting the preparation of sales reports
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth office and sales operations
Qualifications
  • Strong administrative assistance and clerical skills, including document management, data entry, and general office support
  • Experience in executive administrative assistance, supporting managers or team leaders with scheduling, correspondence, and coordination
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Ability to support basic sales activities, such as order processing, preparing quotations, invoicing etc
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., email, word processing, excel spreadsheets) and comfort learning internal systems
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused approach, reliability, and a collaborative working style
  • Prior experience in an administrative or sales support role; experience in a trading, logistics, or timber/wood products environment is an advantage
