Articulated Truck operator (ADT)
Main responsibilities
- Work according verbal/written instructions for routine open pit and workshop activities.
- load, Assemble and transport materials using mobile equipment i.e. Articulated service truck.
- Be responsible for ensuring equipment being used i.e. service truck, is taken for service, faults reported and taken for repair when required.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and parts as a member of the service team.
- May be assigned to specific trade area (e.g., mechanical) and carry out some routine aspects of the trade activity.
- Apply basic knowledge of (part of) the service technician area, such as mechanics / materials.
- Complete basic reports and/or documents of work completed, as required.
- Communicate with the customer, where applicable.
- Network and attend local training.
- Learn how to prepare and execute all activities in line with SHEQ rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing anomalies to other team members and or management.
Requirements
- Bear certificate of competence or equivalent for ability to operate an articulated truck/ADT
- Be a qualified craftsman with a craft certificate in mechanical or equivalent.
- Have at least 3 years’ experience in operating an articulated truck on an open pit mine site.
- Have basic knowledge of the mining environment and application of equipment.
- Experience working as a service man will be an added advantage.
