Assistant Accountant

Employment Information

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Follow up with Heads of Department for invoice approvals
  • Code and process vendor invoices accurately and timely
  • Process entries for manual cheques and reconcile intercompany purchases
  • Account for expenses and replenishment payments related to petty cash
  • Assist in responding to MRA and audit queries
  • Perform supplier statement of account (SOA) reconciliations
  • Follow up for timely submission of invoices
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable (AP) team regarding supplier payments
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) ageing reports
  • Follow up on overdue balances and collections
  • Participate in standard journal posting processes
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly management accounts
  • Support in the annual budgeting process
  • Participate in the internal and external audit process

Qualification and Profile:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or ACCA Level 2
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
