Employment Information

Established and growing medium-sized audit and accounting firm is seeking to employ an Audit Senior or Supervisor. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced and ambitious professional to join a practice with excellent potential and is situated in the Cape Winelands.

The ideal candidate will have completed SAICA articles and a be motivated to remain in assurance. AGA(SA) or CA(SA) eligible or registered candidates will have an advantage, though ambitious and talented individuals still en route to this designation will also be considered.

Managing (including billing) a client portfolio consisting of various entity types providing audits, independent reviews, compilations, accounting and tax related services.

This firm of Chartered Accountants (SA) and Registered Auditors offer a variety of services with the aim of continuously looking for cost-effective, value-added solutions to their clients’ business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Audit Manager with planning, execution, and finalisation of audit engagements.
  • Perform and preliminary review audit work, including trust account audits.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards.
  • Manage client relationships and communicate directly with clients.
  • Supervise and train first- and second-year trainees.
  • Manage audit timelines and deadlines across multiple engagements.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree in Accounting or SAICA accredited degree.
  • AGA(SA), CA(SA) or eligible to register.
  • Completed SAICA articles.
  • Supervisory and management experience a positive.
  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS for SME's, IFRS, ISA, and taxation.
  • Experience auditing legal practitioners’ trust accounts (essential).
  • Experience with PPRA audits (highly advantageous).
  • Strong working knowledge of Caseware (highly advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Afrikaans and English.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.

Remuneration:

R300,000 to R500,000 ctc per annum.
