CALL FOR CONSULTANCY: DEVELOPMENT OF A TRAINING MANUAL ON PREVENTION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
BACKGROUND
Family Support Trust is a local nongovernmental organization that prevents and responds to child sexual abuse. The organization implements a number of prevention of child abuse interventions in different parts of the country, conducted with both in school and out of schoolchildren. The organization need to have a well-packaged manual on prevention of child sexual abuse that it can use when conducting prevention activities in schools.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
The organization’s prevention projects are meant to build the capacity of children (learners). Teachers, parents and guardians on how to prevent the sexual abuse of children and what action to take in the event of an unfortunate abuse. The project intends to use a whole community approach to prevent child sexual abuse.
OVERALL OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT
FST intends to engage a consultant to develop a training that will be used to guide activities on prevention of child sexual abuse in schools. The manual will be used to mentor both boys and girls, teachers, parents and the community at large on the prevention child sexual abuse among primary school children. The purpose of this assignment is therefore develop a training manual on the above to be used during community outreach activities.
SCOPE OF WORK
1. Review of manuals that FST already has.
2. Drafting and designing content and structure of the training manual, including a brief description of contents of the training manuals and what they are meant to achieve with the logical sequence that will be considered as a sketch of the manual for approval from FST
3. Develop the training manual including all session plans, hand-outs/presentations, assessment tools etc. with age appropriate language
Period
The assignment is expected to be completed in 25 days from the date of engagement to be done between 1 and 30 July 2026.
Requirements
The consultant should have not less than 5 years of working on child sexual abuse
Should have experience of developing training manuals for children’s issues
The lead consultant should be a holder of a social science degree

A technical and financial proposal outline, including the proposed methodology.
