Responsibilities:
Assistance with Daily Living (ADLs):
- Bathing, showering, grooming, and oral care.
- Assisting with selecting clothes and getting dressed.
- Helping the person get in and out of bed, move around the home, or use mobility aids.
- Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and tracking nutritional intake.
Household & Instrumental Care (IADLs):
- Ensuring the right medications are taken at the prescribed times.
- Light cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space.
- Grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions.
Medical & Health Support:
- Observing physical or behavioral changes and reporting them to doctors.
- Scheduling and accompanying the care recipient to medical appointments.
- Ensuring the patient's care preferences and rights are respected in medical or legal settings.
Companionship & Emotional Support:
- Motivating the individual to participate in hobbies, community activities, and social outings.
- Providing conversation and a constant presence to combat isolation
Requirements:
- Minimum of SSCE, OND, or relevant caregiving certification.
- Experience caring for elderly individuals, children, or persons with special needs.
- Basic First Aid or CPR certification.
- Previous caregiving experience is an advantage.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Physically fit and capable of assisting clients with mobility needs.
