1.      ROLE IDENTIFICATION

Job Title:  CCTV OPERATOR

Direct Reports:

·        PROJECT MANAGER

2.      JOB PURPOSE

The CCTV Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating surveillance systems to ensure the safety and security of clients' premises, assets, employees, and visitors. The role involves identifying security breaches, reporting incidents, maintaining surveillance records, and supporting security operations through effective monitoring and communication.

3.      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance equipment continuously to detect suspicious activities, security breaches, safety hazards, or unauthorized access.

· Observe and analyze live and recorded footage and promptly report any irregularities to the relevant security personnel or management.

· Maintain accurate records of incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts.

· Operate CCTV systems, alarm systems, access control systems, and other security equipment effectively.

· Assist in investigations by retrieving and preserving video footage when required.

· Ensure all surveillance equipment is functioning properly and report faults or malfunctions immediately.

· Coordinate with security officers, supervisors, and emergency response teams during incidents.

· Monitor entry and exit points to ensure compliance with security procedures.

· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by management.

· Maintain confidentiality of all surveillance information and company records.

· Adhere to company policies, client requirements, and applicable security regulations.

· Respond appropriately to emergencies and escalate matters according to established procedures.

·        5. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels with credit or better in Mathematics and English

.

·        Certificate or training in CCTV Operations, Security Management, or a related field will be an added advantage

6.EXPERIENCE:

Minimum. 1–2 years’ experience in a control room, operations, or security environment.

· Experience in CCTV monitoring and radio communication systems is preferred.

· Knowledge of security operations and emergency procedures.

· Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.

· Clean criminal record.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Good report writing skills.

· Attention to detail.
