Conveyancing Paralegal - Transfers

Duties / Key Responsibilities

  • Administer sectional and conventional property transfers from instruction to registration
  • Process instructions and maintain accurate records of source of instruction
  • Report to clients, estate agents and the conveyancer throughout the matter
  • Arrange appointments, draft documents and manage files proactively
  • Identify potential issues and escalate problem areas timeously
  • Arrange lodgement, handle registration steps and ensure delivery of deeds
  • Manage financial administration, including investments, payments, receipts and balancing of funds
  • Ensure FICA compliance
  • Assist with reception duties when required

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar conveyancing transfers role
  • Sound knowledge of Lexis Convey and AJS
  • Ability to handle standard seller, purchaser and agent queries competently
  • Strong accounting background
  • Good letter-writing and document drafting skills
  • Able to diarise, administer procedures and work independently

Education

  • Matric essential
  • Paralegal qualification advantageous

  • Accurate, organised and methodical
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and manage high volumes
  • Deadline-driven with excellent prioritisation skills
