A well-established finance company is looking for an experienced Credit Analyst to join their team in Cape Town.
About the role
This position is suited to a detail-oriented and analytical finance professional with experience in credit risk assessment and regulatory compliance. The role will involve a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Conducting financial analysis and due diligence on bridging finance applications
- Assessing applicant creditworthiness through financial data, credit reports, and legal documentation
- Assisting with structuring credit underwriting terms to mitigate risk
- Performing affordability assessments in line with regulatory requirements
- Ensuring compliance with the National Credit Act (NCA) and POPIA regulations
- Maintaining detailed and audit-ready credit documentation
- Supporting the monitoring of the credit portfolio and identifying risk trends
- Collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth loan processes
- Assisting with the implementation of digital and data-driven risk solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related field.
- 2+ Years’ experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, or a similar role.
- Exposure to bridging finance or specialist lending environments.
- Practical knowledge of the National Credit Act (NCA) and its application within the South African lending market.
- Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
