Design Draughtsman

Requirements:

• Experience: 5 to 15 years. (Dependent on required position, i.e., entry level to senior)
• Qualifications: Relevant draughting qualification advantageous but not crucial.
• Professional Registrations: Not required.
• Software: Microsoft Office (proficient in excel, word, outlook), Nesting Software (any but not critical), any 3D design package (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred).
• Proficient in English (Crucial) and Afrikaans (Ideal)
• Notice period: Not more than 1 month.

• Reports to department manager.
• Product development and design.
• Take on complete projects from start to finish including special projects.
• Load distributions and general arrangement drawings.
• Assist in implementing drawing standards/processes/documentation etc.
• Maintain products/databases/standards/administration etc.
• Assist production and repair departments as needed.
• Create nestings for plasma.
• Assist with day-to-day requirements.
• Data capturing and filing.
• Bills of materials.
• Proper planning and time management. The successful candidate will be expected to function successfully on their own and must be a quick learner.
• Maintain good interdepartmental communications and relations.

• Excellent communication, numeracy, and computer literacy skills.
• Identifying problems and implement preventative strategies to minimise risk.
• Being able to develop good working relationships and trust with co-workers.
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytic ability and be very detail oriented.
• Working well with many different departments and external suppliers.
• Always keeping the end-user/customer in mind.
• Being results and deadline driven.

• Proficient in MS Office and CAD software.
