We are looking for a motivated and experienced Electrical Designer to join our growing engineering team specialising in Building Services and Solar PV projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, drafting, and coordination of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, residential, and renewable energy developments.
This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects involving building electrical infrastructure, embedded generation, and solar PV systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical building services systems including:
  • Lighting and small power
  • Distribution boards and reticulation
  • Earthing and lightning protection
  • Fire detection and security systems
• Prepare Solar PV system designs including:
  • Grid-tied and hybrid systems
  • Inverter and panel layouts
  • Cable sizing and protection design
  • Battery energy storage integration
• Produce detailed drawings, layouts, schematics, and technical documentation
• Perform electrical calculations and equipment sizing
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients
• Conduct site inspections and assist with commissioning activities
• Ensure compliance with SANS regulations, NRS standards, and local authority requirements
• Assist with tender documentation and project deliverables

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3–7 years’ experience in electrical building services and/or solar PV design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP
• Experience with solar design software advantageous
• Sound knowledge of SANS 10142 and renewable energy standards
• Strong technical, communication, and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
