Executive Director, Technical

About The Role

• The Executive Director, Technical whom will report directly to the Board & MD/CEO is expected to have ultimate accountability for the strategic growth, operational excellence, technical underwriting, and financial performance of our entire life insurance portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Drive the life business plan to maximize market share.
• Technical Operations: Oversee life underwriting, claims administration, and actuarial valuation frameworks.
• Digital Transformation: Champion strategies to improve customer service delivery digitally.
• Sales & Distribution: Accelerate retail expansion, corporate partnerships, and bancassurance channels.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to NAICOM guidelines, corporate governance codes, and local laws.
• Financial Stewardship: Optimize investment strategies for life funds and manage the department's P&L.

Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years in insurance, with at least 5–8 years at a senior executive level.
• Must possess substantial technical expertise and relevant industry experience.
• First Degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Finance, or Business related course. An MBA or MSc is an advantage.
• Professional Certification: Must be a Fellow or Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria CIIN.
• Regulatory Status: Must meet all NAICOM "Fit and Proper" criteria for board-level appointment.
• Core Skills: Exceptional grasp of risk management, digital insurance ecosystems, and local market dynamics.
