Responsibilities:
Poultry Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the poultry farm.
  • Ensure efficient management of broilers, layers, or other poultry stock.
  • Monitor feed consumption, water supply, and bird performance.
  • Implement production schedules and ensure targets are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate records of bird mortality, feed intake, egg production, and sales.


Animal Health and Biosecurity:

  • Ensure proper vaccination and medication schedules are followed.
  • Monitor bird health and promptly address disease outbreaks.
  • Implement and enforce biosecurity and hygiene protocols.
  • Liaise with veterinarians and other technical professionals to maintain flock health.


 Staff Supervision and Leadership:

  • Supervise and coordinate farm workers and support staff.
  • Assign responsibilities and monitor performance.
  • Train employees on poultry management best practices and safety procedures.
  • Foster a productive and safe working environment.

 

Farm Resource Management:

  • Manage inventory of feed, medications, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of poultry houses and farm equipment.
  • Monitor operational costs and minimize wastage.


 Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare operational and production reports.
  • Recommend improvements to increase productivity and profitability.
  • Support management in achieving business objectives and growth targets.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in animal science or a related agricultural discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience managing a commercial poultry farm*.
  • Strong knowledge of poultry production and management practices.
  • Good understanding of poultry nutrition, vaccination, and biosecurity protocols.
  • Leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in record keeping and reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.

Remuneration: NGN 250,000 – 350,000 Monthly
