This is an hybrid role and the successful candidate will be expected to work 3-4 days on-site. The successful candidate will resume at our Academy in Gbagada, Lagos State.
- Teach courses pattern drafting, garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric knowledge, and fashion business basics.
- Follow and improve the academy’s curriculum to ensure students meet learning objectives and industry standards.
- Supervise hands-on practical sessions, workshops, and student projects. Provide feedback on fittings, corrections, and finishing.
- Assess student progress, give one-on-one guidance, and support students in building portfolios for industry placement.
- Maintain order in class, track attendance, and ensure studio tools/machines are used safely and maintained properly.
- Set assignments, tests, and final collection projects. Mark and grade student work objectively.
- Stay updated on fashion trends, techniques, and tools to keep course content relevant for Nigeria and diaspora markets.
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Degree or professional certificate in Fashion Design, Clothing & Textile, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years hands-on experience in fashion design.
- Strong knowledge of manual and industrial sewing machines, pattern making, grading, and couture finishing is a MUST.
- Basic knowledge of fashion illustration design tools and fabric painting is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, patience with beginners, creativity, and ability to motivate students
- Must be able to show sample garments or collection you’ve designed and constructed.
