Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fibre Engineer for our fibre network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deployment, troubleshooting, optimisation, and maintenance of fibre optic systems while ensuring high network availability and swift resolution of client issues.
This role offers a flexible work structure, allowing for remote operations, provided the candidate resides within proximity to Victoria Island to ensure quick on-site intervention when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fibre optic systems
- Perform fibre splicing, testing, and fault resolution
- Handle underground and aerial fibre cabling installations
- Monitor and optimise signal strength and network performance
- Conduct routine maintenance and infrastructure patrols
- Configure customer routers for last-mile connectivity fibre & microwave radio
- Support Outside Plant OSP network operations
- Ensure accurate documentation of deployments and maintenance activities
- Provide timely resolution of customer complaints and 2nd-level support issues
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors on fibre projects
- Generate weekly and periodic operational reports
Technical Requirements
- Strong experience in fibre optic installation, troubleshooting, and diagnostics
- Hands-on expertise with tools such as OTDR, Power Meter, and Fusion Splicing Machine
- Knowledge of RF engineering and telecom infrastructure
- Experience with last-mile connectivity solutions Fibre & Microwave Radio
- Ability to monitor signal strength, SNR, and performance metrics
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fibre network support or telecom operations
- Relevant certifications e.g., CCNA, CWNA are an added advantage
- Membership of relevant professional bodies is a plus

Working Conditions
