Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Officer, the Finance and Administration Intern will support the effective implementation of ABDO’s financial and administrative functions. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in financial management, administration, procurement, and organizational operations while contributing to the achievement of ABDO’s mission and objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Intern will be responsible for supporting the Finance and Administration Officer in the following areas:
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports in line with ABDO financial policies and procedures, including cash flow monitoring and analysis.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting routine financial analysis.
• Assisting with procurement processes for goods and services in accordance with organizational policies.
• Supporting the coordination of organizational activities, meetings, workshops, conferences, and events.
• Maintaining complete, accurate, and up-to-date records of receipts, payments, financial transactions, and other organizational documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with ABDO policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
• Supporting filing systems, both electronic and paper-based, to ensure proper document management.
• Assisting with internal and external audit processes, including responding to auditor requests.
• Supporting the preparation and organization of documents required for annual audits.
• Providing administrative support to programme and operational activities.
• Performing any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled at a recognized university or college or a recent university graduate.
• Studying towards a qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.

• High levels of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email applications.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Pastel is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of electronic and manual filing systems.
Language Requirements
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of local languages will be an added advantage.
