About the Opportunity
Motus Mahindra Paarl is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Manager to oversee the dealership's financial operations and contribute to the successful launch of our new dealership opening on 01 September 2026.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, budgeting, compliance, internal controls and business performance analysis. This role will partner closely with the Dealer Principal and departmental managers to drive profitability, operational efficiency and sound financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all dealership financial operations and reporting functions.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Monitor dealership key performance indicators and identify risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Motus Group policies, financial controls and statutory requirements.
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial records.
- Oversee debtor, creditor, cashbook and asset management processes.
- Ensure compliance with taxation, VAT and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
- Support departmental managers with financial planning and budget management.
- Lead, develop and mentor the dealership finance team.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and risk management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Financial Management role.
- Previous experience within the automotive retail or dealership environment will be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.
- Knowledge of South African financial regulations, taxation and compliance requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience
- CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience within a franchised motor dealership environment.
- Experience with Kerridge, Automate or other dealership management systems.
- Experience managing finance teams and departmental budgets.
- Knowledge of automotive industry financial metrics and reporting requirements.
