A well-established mining operation is seeking a qualified Fitter to join their team. This role is ideal for an experienced artisan with a strong background in underground mining maintenance and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on underground mining equipment
- Manage planned maintenance and construction activities
- Conduct inspections in line with legal and safety standards
- Ensure adherence to health and safety policies
- Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions
- Report directly to the Production Foreman
Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile:Education
- Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter
- Minimum N2 Certificate
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ underground mining experience
- Experience with ore loading and underground equipment
Skills
- Mechanical maintenance & fault finding
- Underground mining equipment
- Health & safety compliance
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
- Strong communication and written skills required
