This role is suited to a strong leader who thrives in a hands-on environment and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves when needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team across 3 offices in South Africa, driving operational performance, growing country profitability and ensuring service excellence across the business.

Duties:

  • Driving revenue growth and operational efficiency.
  • The direction of sales and or sales staff, including account management.
  • Monitoring the financial performance of the offices in order to identify and implement necessary improvements.
  • Monitor and manage customer service levels.
  • Explore and utilise growth opportunities.
  • Close collaboration with offices regionally and within the Global network.
  • Oversee budgeting, reporting and planning.
  • Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
  • Develop, implement and review operational policies, procedures and service level agreements.
  • Manage staff performance, collaboration and HR (incl. Hiring, firing, leave).
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed, completed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations (IATA regs/documentation etc).
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years experience in clearing and forwarding, particularly airfreight (non-negotiable).
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a management role (managing nationally) within clearing and forwarding (non-negotiable).
