HDD Drill Locator – HDD Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare drill paths in collaboration with engineers and surveyors.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate HDD tracking and locating equipment.
• Monitor drill head position in real time and provide accurate guidance to drill operators.
• Identify and resolve drilling challenges to ensure smooth project execution.
• Record drill path data and prepare daily operational reports.
• Ensure borehole alignment and quality standards are maintained throughout operations.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and HDD best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Drill Locator in HDD operations.
• Experience locating underground utilities to prevent damage to third-party infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of HDD path planning and bore route preparation.
• Proficiency in using HDD locating/tracking equipment and related software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical plans.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Good understanding of soil conditions, underground obstacles, and HDD safety practices.
• Relevant HDD or drill locating certifications will be an added advantage.
