Head Chef | Luxury Lodge | Kruger National Park
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef for a luxury lodge based in the Kruger National Park. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled culinary professional with strong leadership abilities and a proven background in luxury safari or five-star hospitality environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the kitchen team, delivering exceptional dining experiences, and ensuring consistently high culinary standards in line with luxury lodge expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the entire kitchen team
- Design, develop, and implement innovative seasonal menus
- Deliver high-quality, consistent food presentation and service standards
- Oversee all kitchen operations including stock control, ordering, and cost management
- Maintain strict hygiene, health, and safety standards at all times
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to maintain five-star standards
- Manage food costs, wastage, and supplier relationships
- Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Stay up to date with culinary trends and implement improvements where appropriate
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef within a luxury lodge, safari environment, or high-end fine dining establishment
- Strong leadership and kitchen management skills
- Excellent culinary creativity and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of stock control, costings, and kitchen administration
- Ability to work under pressure in a remote and high-demand environment
- Strong communication and team development skills
- Relevant culinary qualification advantageous
