Role Overview
- The Head of Sales MFB is an executive leadership role focused on driving retail deposit growth, expanding our market footprint, and leading aggressive customer acquisition.
- Your primary mission is to strike a profitable balance: mobilizing low-cost deposits from the retail and SME markets while supervising the structured creation of high-quality, low-risk loan portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Deposit Mobilization: Design and execute high-impact retail deposit drives to continuously bring in low-cost funding from individuals, market traders, and SMEs.
- Risk Asset Creation: Oversee the credit-marketing and sales teams to deploy retail, micro, and SME loan products while maintaining strict alignment with internal and regulatory credit standards.
- Product & Channel Optimization: Collaborate with IT and product teams to promote digital financial services, optimize product mix, and respond to market intelligence
- Field Force Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and deploy a high-performing field force, including branch sales managers, relationship officers, and field agents across major commercial hubs.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of sales executives and business development managers to hit periodic targets
Key Performance Indicators KPIs
- Total Deposit Volume: Monthly and quarterly growth metrics in cheap, stable deposit liabilities.
- Loan Portfolio Quality: Total value of disbursed loans vs. keeping the Portfolio at Risk PAR strictly below the regulatory 5% threshold.
- Customer Acquisition: Net growth in active retail, market, and SME accounts across all branches.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing or related field MBA is an advantage.
- Experience: 8–10 years of active sales experience in Microfinance or Retail Commercial Banking, with at least 4 years in a senior sales management capacity.
- Track Record: Proven, verifiable history of running large-scale retail deposit drives and a strong grasp of credit/lending frameworks for small businesses in Nigeria.
- Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of MSME lending, deposit mobilization, and local financial regulations.
- Skills: Exceptional field leadership, high emotional intelligence, strong territorial knowledge of Lagos commercial hubs, and deep familiarity with CBN microfinance regulations.
