We are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner.
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic partner and advisor to business leaders, ensuring that human resources practices are aligned with organisational objectives and compliant with Namibian labour legislation.
The HRBP serves as the link between HR and business units, delivering people solutions that enhance organisational effectiveness, employee engagement, and performance. This role combines strategic input with operational HR support across employee relations, talent management, and organisational development within the Namibian context.
Responsibilities :
1. Strategic HR Planning

  • Partner with business leaders to understand organisational goals and translate these into people strategies aligned with the Namibian market.
  • Support workforce planning, taking into account local talent availability, skills shortages, and employment equity considerations.
  • Contribute to budgeting and resource planning from a people perspective.

2. Employee Relations

  • Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters in line with the Namibian Labour Act.
  • Manage disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution in a fair and legally compliant manner.
  • Support a positive employee relations climate and minimise workplace disputes.

3. Talent Management

  • Partner with business units to attract, develop, and retain talent within the Namibian labour market.
  • Support recruitment strategies, including localisation initiatives where applicable.
  • Drive succession planning and build sustainable talent pipelines.

4. Organisational Development

  • Identify organisational gaps and recommend interventions to improve efficiency, culture, and engagement.
  • Support change management initiatives, including restructures and transformation projects.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and equitable workplace practices.

5. Performance Management

  • Drive performance management processes aligned to company standards.
  • Support managers with goal setting, performance reviews, and addressing underperformance.
  • Provide coaching to leaders on managing team performance effectively.

6. HR Program Implementation

  • Roll out HR initiatives such as training, leadership development, wellness, and employee engagement programs.
  • Collaborate with Centres of Excellence (COEs) or HR specialists where applicable.
  • Ensure programs are relevant to the Namibian workforce context.

7. Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyse HR metrics (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, recruitment metrics) to identify trends.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to business leaders.
  • Support compliance reporting where required.

8. Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure compliance with Namibian labour laws and regulations, including the Labour Act, Affirmative Action Act, and relevant employment standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Employment Equity Commission where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure audit readiness.

9. Communication and Training

  • Communicate HR policies, procedures, and updates effectively to employees and management.
  • Train and support managers on HR policies, labour law, and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification (advantageous).
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or in a similar role within Namibia or the broader Southern African region.
  • Strong knowledge of Namibian labour legislation (Labour Act, Affirmative Action Act).
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices and business operations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
