Implementation & Platform Engineer

Our client is seeking an Implementation & Platform Engineer to join their technical team in Somerset West. This role is suited to a hands-on IT professional with strong infrastructure, application support, and platform implementation experience who is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•       Implement, maintain, and support platform and application environments

•       Provide technical troubleshooting and incident resolution across systems

•       Work with Linux environments via command line and SSH

•       Support networking configuration, debugging, and basic firewall setup

•       Assist with scripting and automation using Python or Bash

•       Manage configuration files (JSON, TOML, Python-based configs)

•       Collaborate using Git-based version control systems

•       Support cloud and IoT-based technologies and integrations

Requirements:

•       IT certificate or diploma (or related qualification)

•       3–5 years’ experience in IT support, application support, or implementation roles

•       Strong Linux and networking knowledge

•       Basic scripting ability (Python or Bash)

•       Familiarity with Git (GitHub/GitLab)

•       Understanding of SQL databases and queries advantageous

•       Exposure to Docker, IoT platforms (AWS/Azure IoT) and OPC beneficial

•       Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
