We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher with a passion for phonics, literacy, and early reading development** to join our school community.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled practitioner who understands how young children learn to read and write and can inspire a lifelong love of books, language, and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective English lessons for Key Stage 1 pupils.
- Teach and assess phonics using a systematic and structured approach.
- Support children who are new to reading and help them develop confidence, fluency, and comprehension skills.
- Foster a rich literacy environment that encourages a love of reading, storytelling, and creative writing.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide targeted intervention where required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support children's learning and development.
Essential Requirements:
- A first degree.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching English in Key Stage 1.
- Strong knowledge and proven experience in the teaching of phonics.
- A genuine passion for literacy and children's literature.
- Experience supporting children at the early stages of reading and writing.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- A nurturing, creative, and child-centred approach to teaching.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
