Kelem International School (KIS) is a Pre-KG to Grade 10 institution with a rich 80-year history as a Scandinavian school in Addis Ababa. For 73 years it operated under the Swedish Embassy as the Swedish Community School before transitioning in 2019 to an independent, not-for-profit international school. Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and continuously develop expertise in early childhood education.
Design and implement lesson plans that meet state learning standards and the school’s specific learning objectives.
Collaborate with fellow teachers to coordinate lessons, ensuring interdisciplinary reinforcement of concepts.
Provide both direct and indirect instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Plan short- and long-term learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
Prepare students for all required assessments and evaluate their progress effectively.
Produce at least quarterly individual student achievement reports for parents.
Create an inviting, stimulating, and innovative classroom environment that fosters curiosity and creativity.
Practice effective and positive classroom management strategies.
Actively seek and incorporate feedback and coaching from the school’s leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned by the School Administration.
