Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to maintenance and production teams to maximise plant availability and reliability.
  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects, including equipment upgrades, installations, and plant modifications.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage contractors and service providers during maintenance shutdowns and project activities.
  • Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, and engineering reports.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Support capital expenditure projects from concept through commissioning.

Minimum Requirements

  • BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Registered as an ECSA Candidate Engineer or Professional Engineer will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a manufacturing, paper, pulp, packaging, FMCG, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience with rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles and reliability engineering.
  • Experience in project management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
