MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (GRADE – EG9) – 3 Positions
Location
Tenable in the Company at its various hydropower stations, this post reports to the Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment within the power station to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting and rectifying mechanical faults on power plant equipment, installations, and associated facilities to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical installations, identifying defects or potential failures and documenting findings for maintenance planning and reporting purposes.
- Preparing and submitting material and spare parts requirements to the immediate supervisor to facilitate timely procurement and maintenance activities.
- Performing testing, commissioning and performance verification of repaired or newly installed mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Installing, modifying and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications and statutory regulations.
- Monitoring the performance and condition of mechanical equipment and recommending improvements or corrective actions to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with mechanical records, faults reports and work completion documentation.
- Participating in plant outages, shutdowns and emergency maintenance activities as required.
Job Specifications
- A holder of an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or City and Guilds Diploma in Mechanical Engineering obtained from well recognized, reputable and accredited institutions.
- Must have at least 3 years’ post qualification experience in manufacturing, machine maintenance or related industry.
- Physically fit and willing to work odd hours and weekends.
- Should be aged between 25 and 40.
