About the role
Develop practical engineering, manufacturing, and technical sales skills within a workshop environment. Support design, fabrication, and commercial activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with HVAC and fabrication drawings.
  • Operate and learn plasma cutting machines.
  • Execute job cards and support production.
  • Assist with quotations and pricing.
  • Attend meetings with consultant engineers.
  • Support procurement and supplier coordination.
Training & Development
  • Month 1: Orientation, HVAC basics, workshop exposure.
  • Month 2: Practical application and coordination.
  • Week 3 onwards: Pricing and quotation training.
  • Months 3–6: Advanced skills and independent tasks.
Software & Tools
  • AutoCAD, Revit, CAMduct.
  • Plasma cutting systems (Starcam/Fastcam).
  • Microsoft Excel and MS Project.
Key Competencies

  • Teamwork and adaptability.
Working Conditions
  • Workshop-based environment.
  • Site visits required.
  • PPE required.
Minimum Requirements
  • South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
  • Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
  • Matric.
  • Business Management qualification (advantage).
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Strong organisational skills.
