About the role
Develop practical engineering, manufacturing, and technical sales skills within a workshop environment. Support design, fabrication, and commercial activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with HVAC and fabrication drawings.
- Operate and learn plasma cutting machines.
- Execute job cards and support production.
- Assist with quotations and pricing.
- Attend meetings with consultant engineers.
- Support procurement and supplier coordination.
Training & Development- Month 1: Orientation, HVAC basics, workshop exposure.
- Month 2: Practical application and coordination.
- Week 3 onwards: Pricing and quotation training.
- Months 3–6: Advanced skills and independent tasks.
Software & Tools- AutoCAD, Revit, CAMduct.
- Plasma cutting systems (Starcam/Fastcam).
- Microsoft Excel and MS Project.

Working Conditions- Workshop-based environment.
- Site visits required.
- PPE required.
Minimum Requirements
- South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
- Matric.
- Business Management qualification (advantage).
- MS Office proficiency.
- Strong organisational skills.
