What to Expect
- Receive and accurately log patient specimens into the laboratory information system.
- Verify patient information, specimen labeling, and accompanying documentation.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis according to established protocols.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of samples to maintain integrity.
- Collaborate closely with laboratory scientists, phlebotomists, and other healthcare staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with laboratory safety standards.
Requirements
Essential education, experience and skills:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting or specimen accessioning is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
