Mine Captain and Shift Bosses Jobs in Chililabombwe Timaja Enterprises Limited is seeking qualified and experienced professionals for the roles of Mine Captain and Shift Bosses at its operations in Chililabombwe, Copperbelt Province, Zambia.

These full-time positions offer an excellent opportunity to join a leading mining company at Konkola Copper Mine (KCM) and Lubambe Copper Mine.

Available Positions:

• Mine Captain and Shift Bosses 1.

Mine Captain – 1 Position Location:

Konkola Copper Mine (KCM), Nampundwe Key Requirements:

• At least 8 years’ experience in underground mining with extensive expertise in diamond drilling operations.
• Proven ability to supervise underground diamond drilling crews and manage drilling activities efficiently.
• Comprehensive knowledge of underground drilling techniques including core drilling, drilling patterns, hole positioning, and procedures.
• Experience in underground exploration, grade-control, definition, and infill drilling projects.
• Competence in interpreting drill plans, geological maps, sections, and drilling programs.
• Familiarity with core handling processes such as recovery, orientation, logging, sampling, and QA/QC protocols.
• Skilled in coordinating drilling schedules, crews, equipment, consumables, and meeting production targets.
• Strong understanding of underground ground conditions, ventilation systems, mine services, and hazard management.
• Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
• Experience monitoring drilling performance metrics including meters drilled, productivity, downtime, and costs.
• Excellent coordination skills for working with geologists, drillers, shift bosses, mine management, and contractors.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple drilling teams.
• Relevant Mining or Engineering qualification or recognised mine supervisory certification.
• Valid statutory certificates and licences for underground mining supervision.
• Diamond drilling contractor-management experience is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid Silicosis Certificate and Blasting Licence.

Shift Bosses – 2 Positions Location:

Lubambe Copper Mine, Chililabombwe Key Requirements:

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Valid Blasting Licence.
• Valid Occupational Health Certificate (Silicosis).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Shift Boss in underground mining operations.
• Proven supervisory skills in managing underground mining crews.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good knowledge of mining safety standards and operational procedures.
