We are seeking a highly disciplined, punctual, and professional Motorcycle Messenger to join our Group Administration team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in facilitating seamless inter-company logistics, statutory compliance filings, and secure stakeholder communications.
Key Responsibilities
As a Group Motorcycle Messenger, your primary mandate will be to ensure the secure, efficient, and highly confidential transit of documents, statutory records, and lightweight corporate parcels. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Corporate & Statutory Deliveries: Promptly collecting, tracking, and delivering sensitive documentation, corporate mail, and files to banks, government registries, legal institutions, and various group subsidiaries.
Logistics Optimization: Mapping out the most cost-effective and secure routes across Greater Harare to ensure time-sensitive deliveries are executed within established corporate timelines.
Chain of Custody & Security: Guaranteeing the absolute confidentiality, safety, and physical integrity of all packages and documents from point of pickup to destination, ensuring all recipient acknowledgments are signed and filed accurately.
Professional Representation: Acting as an ambassador of the Group’s corporate image by maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance when interacting with external executives, regulatory bodies, and clients.
Asset Management & Fleet Care: Conducting rigorous daily pre-ride inspections of the assigned group motorcycle (oil, brakes, tyres, fuel), keeping the asset immaculately clean, and proactively reporting any maintenance schedules or mechanical defects.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhering strictly to the Road Traffic Act, municipal bylaws, defensive riding practices, and Group safety policies at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
Licence: Valid, clean Class 3 Driver’s Licence with a proven, accident-free riding history.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of continuous experience working as a corporate messenger, dispatch rider, or delivery runner within a formal corporate structure or group of companies.
Geographical Expertise: Exceptional, nuanced knowledge of Harare’s central business district, industrial sites, and residential suburbs, including strategic shortcuts and traffic bottleneck bypasses.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong time-management capabilities with a track record of meeting strict delivery deadlines.
Clear verbal and written communication skills in English and Shona to interact with various management levels and regulatory desk officers.
Basic digital literacy, with the ability to confidently navigate smartphone mapping applications (Google Maps) and internal communication tools.
Attributes: High level of personal integrity, absolute trustworthiness, punctuality, and strong physical fitness.
Advantageous: A valid Defensive Driving Certificate (DDC) is highly desirable.
