Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong and commercially aware Pre-Sales Engineer to support our growing business.
This role bridges sales and technical delivery, focusing on understanding client needs, designing tailored ICT and security solutions, and supporting the full pre-sales cycle—from opportunity qualification to order confirmation.
You will work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver solutions that are technically sound, competitively priced, and aligned to business needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Engagement & Requirements Analysis
Engage clients to gather technical and business requirements
Conduct site surveys and technical discovery sessions
Translate business needs into structured solution designs
2. Solution Design & Technical Proposals
Design end-to-end ICT and security solutions including:
Networking infrastructure (LAN/WAN)
Servers and workstations
CCTV and surveillance systems
Access control systems
Smart/interactive solutions
Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and architecture designs
Develop professional proposals and client presentations
Ensure compliance with standards and tender requirements
3. Tender & Procurement Support
Identify and analyze government and private tenders
Lead technical sections of bid submissions
Work with procurement teams on vendor pricing and selection
Monitor tender portals for new opportunities
4. Vendor & Product Management
Manage relationships with key vendors (HP, Dell, Cisco, Hikvision, Ubiquiti, Samsung)
Maintain updated product and pricing knowledge
Participate in trainings, certifications, and webinars
5. Sales Team Support
Support sales team in lead qualification and solution feasibility
Deliver technical presentations and product demos
Provide technical inputs during negotiations
Hand over projects with full technical documentation
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA, HP/Dell, Hikvision) are an added advantage
Experience
1–3 years in Pre-Sales, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Sales
Experience in at least two areas:
Networking
Server infrastructure
CCTV / surveillance
Access control
AV / smart systems
Experience with Tanzanian tenders (government/corporate) is highly preferred
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of networking (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless)
Knowledge of servers and storage solutions (HPE, Dell, NAS/SAN)
Experience with security systems (Hikvision, Dahua, etc.)
Ability to prepare BOQs and proposals using Microsoft Word & Excel
Ability to interpret technical documentation and tender specifications
Familiarity with ICT pricing structures in Tanzania is an advantage
Key Competencies
Strong communication and presentation skills
High attention to detail (especially BOQs and documentation)
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
Client-facing confidence and professionalism
Strong teamwork and collaboration
Fluency in English and Swahili
