Responsibilities:
Meal Planning & Preparation:
- Plan and prepare weekly menus (Nigerian, continental, and healthy options)
- Prepare daily meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and light snacks
- Tailor meals to specific dietary needs (e.g., low-oil, low-salt, diabetic-friendly)
- Ensure variety, quality, and minimal repetition
Kitchen Management:
- Take full responsibility for kitchen cleanliness and organization
- Monitor food stock and prepare shopping lists
- Ensure proper storage and preservation of food items
- Minimize waste and manage portions efficiently
Hygiene & Safety:
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards
- Ensure proper handling of meat, seafood, and fresh produce
- Keep all kitchen surfaces, utensils, and appliances clean and sanitized
Household Coordination:
- Work collaboratively with the house manager or steward (if applicable)
- Serve meals neatly when required
- Align cooking schedule with household routines
Special Occasions:
- Prepare meals for guests and small gatherings
- Assist with occasional home entertaining
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4-10+ years of experience as a private cook/Chef or in a high-end home/hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian cuisine and basic continental dishes
- Ability to prepare healthy, balanced meals
- Clean, organized, and disciplined
Preferred:
- Experience working in high-net-worth households
- Basic knowledge of nutrition
- Ability to follow and adapt recipes, including international dishes
- Discreet and trustworthy
- Consistent and reliable (critical for a home environment)
