Program Coordinator: GoGreen Climate Change Initiative (Volunteer x1): Action for Youth Foundation Trust
Action for Youth Foundation Trust is a registered youth-serving, non-profit organization committed to improving the life standards of youth in Zimbabwe through enhanced health access, climate resilience and civic engagement.
The organization is looking for a Program Coordinator who will provide technical and strategic support to the implementation and scaling up of the GoGreen Climate Change Initiative on a volunteer and part-time basis. The ideal candidate will support the organization in developing green jobs and economic strengthening opportunities for young people in urban areas while promoting climate resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing technical guidance on the implementation of the GoGreen Climate Change Initiative.
- Supporting the development of green jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people in urban communities.
- Advising the organization on economic strengthening interventions and sustainable livelihood models.
- Participating in the planning and implementation of climate change and environmental sustainability programs.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets, concept notes, proposals, and project reports.
- Representing the organization in meetings, forums, and stakeholder engagements.
- Building partnerships with government departments, private sector institutions, and development partners on climate and youth economic empowerment issues.
- Supporting resource mobilization efforts for climate resilience and green economy initiatives.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Natural Resources Management, Development Studies, Economics, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, or any related field from a reputable institution.
- At least two years of experience in climate change programming, economic empowerment, livelihoods, or youth development.
- Knowledge of green economy principles, circular economy approaches, and climate adaptation interventions is an added advantage.
- Experience in proposal writing, project planning, and stakeholder engagement is desirable.
- Agora Certificate of Completion on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse is a must.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
