Summary

We are currently seeking to engage a Procurement/Quantity Surveyor to support the operations of our companies BTech Construction Group Ltd, and Akida Hills Ltd. The successful candidate will: 

  • Be responsible for managing project costs and ensuring financial efficiency from design to completion. The role combines cost estimation, tendering, contract administration, and supplier management to keep projects within budget while maintaining quality.
  • Provide procurement strategies to ensure cost efficiency, timely delivery of materials, and adherence to project specifications while maintaining quality.
  • Make strategic and wholistic decisions on behalf of the companies.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation, Budgeting, Cost Control & Reporting
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets to ensure financial control.
  • Procurement & Tendering
  • Manage procurement processes including supplier selection and negotiation.
  • Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities BOQ, and rate analyses.
  • Review technical specifications for procurement.
  • Evaluate contractor and supplier proposals. Also, oversee contract execution and compliance.
  • Approve major procurement decisions.
  • Work with the Project Manager to draft, review, and manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Track project expenditures and provide regular financial reports
  • Control project financial risks, identify risks, and propose cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Work closely with architects, accountants, engineers, and project managers to align procurement strategies with design and construction goals.
  • Support decision-making by providing financial insights.

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc. degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5-8 years experiences in construction or architecture firms.
  • A chartered Quantity surveyor preferred
  • Willingness to travel important
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods.
  • Proficiency in cost management software e.g. MS Project.
  • Analytical and negotiation skills for supplier management.
  • Understanding local and international procurement regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
