SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced persons to fill the following performance: –
position of SHE Officer on a Fixed Term employment contract basis, renewable subject to

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Coordinate and implement Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) activities, including enforcement of compliance to the organisation’s SHE Management System Review and implement SHE procedures, standards and legal requirements
Implement agreed Safety and Environmental procedures and standards and mitigate impacts of emergencies when they arise
Conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, job observations SHE training, inductions and awareness programmes in compliance with SHE System procedures and standards and generating relevant reports and follow-up action plans
Maintain the Division’s SHE database and records and ensure SHE permits, licences and statutory requirements remain valid and up to date
Monitor contractor compliance with contractual SHE obligations and applicable legislation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
Professional SHE qualification such as NEBOSH, SAMTRAC or equivalent will be an added advantage.
At least five years post qualification relevant SHE experience, preferably in mining, contracting or
heavy industry
Sound knowledge of SHE legislation, risk management, incident investigation and auditing with NOSA SHE System and exposure a distinct advantage
ESG Certification an added advantage
High level of computer aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
