Safety Officer

Job description

Faren Mine in Chingola is hiring a Safety Officer.

REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mining or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of Zambian mining safety regulations and standards
• Excellent communication, reporting and problem-solving skills
• Computer literacy
• A valid driver’s licence is an added advantage

KEY DUTIES
• Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures and legal requirements
• Investigate incidents and prepare reports
• Provide safety training and awareness to employees
• Maintain safety records and documentation
• Promote a positive safety culture on site
