A leading international technology consultancy is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to play a key role in modernizing large-scale enterprise financial platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact digital transformation projects, driving the migration of legacy .NET systems into scalable, future-ready Java-based architectures. The role offers close collaboration with global engineering teams and UK-based clients within a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment, with full-time onsite engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead backend development initiatives using C#/.NET and Java/J2EE
- Drive the migration of legacy .NET systems to modern Java-based architectures
- Design and develop secure, scalable enterprise financial applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage directly with client stakeholders
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud deployments across AWS and Azure
- Mentor and support junior developers while promoting engineering best practices
Requirements- 5+ years of backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in C#/.NET and Java/J2EE
- Solid experience with SQL and large-scale datasets
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Previous consulting or client-facing experience is advantageous
