Senior Officer, Scheduler

 The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To ensure contractor schedules and work progress aligns with the master schedule and adheres to the Kamoa standards

You will have the following:

  • Certificate or diploma in project management or equivalent
  • Project management certificate with Primavera qualification
  • 8 years relevant experience in Construction Project planning
  • Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.

Technical Skills should include:

  • Computer literacy - MS Office Software (Excel)
  • Planning software
  • Technical knowledge-Construction processes (sequencing)
  • Communications skills

Role Specific Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of the scheduling software
  • Project estimating principles (time and cost)
  • Understand project budgeting and costing
  • Commercial aspects of projects
  • Knowledge of all construction disciplines

   Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:

  • Plan, track and report on contractor project planning
  • Plan, forecast and track progress of construction contractor’s planning
  • Monitor contractor schedules and advise on any changes
  • Provide reports and feedback to Construction Managers and Project Managers
  • Skills Transfer and Transformation
  • Finance -Monitor costs or expenses to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
  • HSEQ - Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
  • Stakeholder Management - Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
  • People: Manage self and show up as a good team player
