The ideal candidate will be a technically strong tailings professional with proven experience in geotechnical investigations, tailings facility design, stability assessments, and project delivery. The ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and build strong client relationships will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule and coordinate engineering projects
- Prepare technical proposals and assist with the appointment and management of subcontractors and sub-consultants
- Conduct surveillance and monitoring of tailings storage facilities and return water dams
- Perform and/or assist the Engineer of Record (EoR) with annual audit inspections of tailings storage facilities and return water dams
- Conduct site inspections, monitoring activities and construction management visits
- Lead the design and development of new tailings storage facilities, return water dams and associated infrastructure
- Undertake and supervise field investigations and site assessments
- Perform and oversee stability, seepage and risk assessments for various residue storage facilities
- Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation
- Manage project delivery and provide regular progress updates to project managers and directors
- Mentor, train and support graduate, junior and intermediate engineers
- Stay abreast of industry developments, best practices and emerging technologies within the tailings sector
