Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Support the planning, implementation, and delivery of MTN telecommunications projects
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate project activities across engineering, construction, operations, and vendor teams.
- Ensure adherence to project governance, methodologies, and reporting requirements.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays and cost overruns.
Telecommunications Infrastructure Management
- Oversee telecom site deployment, upgrades, modernization, and optimization activities.
- Monitor the execution of civil, electrical, and telecommunications works across project sites.
- Ensure compliance with MTN technical standards, engineering specifications, and industry best practices.
- Support network expansion initiatives and infrastructure enhancement projects.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate contractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide regular progress updates to management.
- Resolve project-related issues and escalate critical matters where necessary.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor adherence to project specifications.
- Support project audits and quality assurance reviews.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurately maintained and updated.
Reporting & Project Controls
- Prepare project status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Track project costs, schedules, and resource utilization
- Provide recommendations to improve project performance and operational efficiency.
- Support management with strategic decision-making through project analysis and reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
- 10+ years’ experience in telecom service delivery
- Minimum of 10 –15 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience managing large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting mobile network operators (MNOs), preferably MTN or other Tier-1 telecom operators.
Personal Attributes
- Demonstrated experience in telecom site rollout, network deployment, transmission, power systems, tower infrastructure, or related projects.
- Strong contractor and stakeholder management experience.
