Job Summary
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and engaging reliable suppliers to ensure the organization obtains quality goods and services at competitive prices. The role involves vendor sourcing, price negotiations, market research, supplier relationship management, and ensuring timely procurement processes that support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and source qualified vendors and suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
- Conduct market research to compare pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Prepare and process requests for quotations RFQs, purchase requisitions, and purchase orders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Monitor inventory requirements and coordinate with relevant departments to avoid shortages.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate sourcing and procurement records/documentation.
- Track market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Resolve supplier-related issues including delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good understanding of procurement processes and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
