About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Workshop Translator to bridge communication between our Chinese technical team and local Ethiopian staff at our Color Printed Workshop in Gelan. This is a hands-on, full-time position at the heart of daily operations — from morning briefings and machine training to document translation and staff coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Interpretation
- Provide real-time, on-site interpretation between Chinese supervisors and Ethiopian employees.
- Accurately convey production instructions, machine requirements, quality standards, and safety rules.
Training Support
- Assist Chinese instructors during hands-on skills training for workshop workers.
- Interpret technical explanations and machine-setting steps clearly so workers can follow standard procedures.
Document Translation
- Translate workshop policies, job descriptions, salary structures, attendance rules, and safety guidelines from Chinese to Amharic.
- Prepare bilingual notices and workshop posters as needed.
Staff Communication
- Interpret HR announcements on attendance, salaries, bonuses, and disciplinary matters.
- Collect feedback from local staff and relay it to management promptly to avoid misunderstandings.
Workshop Support
- Help supervisors with attendance checks and daily assignments during morning briefings.
- Help maintain a professional, orderly work environment.
