WOODWORK SPECIALIST / CARPENTER

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Woodwork Specialist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, installing, and finishing a wide range of custom woodwork products, including office furniture, exhibition stands, shop fittings, reception desks, cabinets, shelving, partitions, and interior fit-outs.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Manufacture and assemble custom furniture and wood products.
* Read and interpret technical drawings and production plans.
* Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
* Measure, cut, shape, and finish timber and board materials accurately.
* Install completed woodwork projects at client premises.
* Conduct quality inspections to ensure high workmanship standards.
* Maintain workshop equipment and ensure a clean working environment.
* Collaborate with designers, fabricators, and project teams to deliver projects on time.
* Estimate material requirements and minimize waste.

Qualifications and Experience

* Certificate, Diploma, or Trade Qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, Wood Technology, or a related field.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in furniture manufacturing, joinery, or commercial fit-outs.
* Strong knowledge of MDF, chipboard, plywood, hardwood, laminates, and finishing techniques.
* Ability to operate panel saws, edge banders, routers, drills, sanders, and other woodworking machinery.
* Ability to read technical drawings and work independently.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Valid driver’s licence is an added advantage.
