Employment Information

The Person:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) essential.
  • Degree or Diploma in Law, Compliance or Risk Management, a strong advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years corporate experience.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years exposure in FICA related functions (law firm experience is advantageous).
  • Experience with nCino (formerly DocFox) will be advantageous.
Skills (Know-How Job Related Skills):
  • Good understanding of the FIC Act, its guidance notes, PCC’s and its regulations, KYC methodology, and the AML/CTF/CPF regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of numeracy and literacy skills.
The Job:
  • Work closely with the Senior Compliance team to ensure compliance with FICA and to encourage compliance from others within the firm.
  • Perform thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) checks on new and existing clients.
  • Oversee screening for adverse media, sanctions and political exposure.
  • Check the veracity of documents uploaded for verification and in accordance with their RMCP.
  • Contribute to the RMCP governance and assist with reviewing and updating internal policies and practical guides.
  • Capture and update information on internal systems regularly and accurately.
  • Train staff on client onboarding and FICA compliance procedures.
  • Store key compliance-related documents, including risk assessments, reports, and training logs for audit or inspection purposes.
  • Provide compliance guidance and advice and ensure a culture of compliance through training and awareness.
  • Keep abreast of relevant legislation and FIC webinars/training.
