Gonarezhou Conservation Trust (GCT)
ASSISTANT STOREMAN

Gonarezhou Conservation Trust (GCT) manages Gonarezhou National Park, and works to protect wildlife, support
local communities, and deliver authentic tourism experiences in a remote and unique environment. We are
seeking an Assistant Storeman to manage inward and outward stock movements at the construction site stores,
while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of inventory records and supporting documentation.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Receive stock per set procedures, investigating and reporting any variances to management and
procurement.
● Execute physical stock movements — goods issues, transfers, and returns — strictly within set procedures,
and capture them accurately and daily in the ERP system; maintain the bin-card system as a backup.
● Bin stock safely into correct locations, minimising dock-to-stock cycle time, and maintain orderly
chronological filing of inventory documents.

● Participate in scheduled stock counts; carry out variance analysis and reconcile physical stock to the
electronic ledger.
● Maintain a returnable-tools ledger; report on stock-usage trends and recommend adjustments to stockholding levels.
● Continually assess warehouse layout and stacking practices; enforce warehouse access and security;
contribute to a safe work environment by reporting accidents and hazards.
● Support construction site procurement — raising requisitions, expediting deliveries, verifying goods
received, and liaising with suppliers and site teams.

ELIGIBILITY, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL
● Welcome: A Diploma in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Stores Management — or
a certificate / trade qualification in stores or warehouse operations backed by strong post-qualification
site experience.
● Strongly valued: Practical knowledge of building materials (cement, steel, timber, fixings, finishes,
mechanical and electrical consumables) and how they are received, stored, and issued on a live
construction site.

● Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in stores operations, with at least part of
this gained on a construction site or in a building-materials environment. Proven on-site track record will
be prioritised over academic credentials; novice candidates without site exposure are unlikely to be
successful.
● Skills and attributes: Working knowledge of an ERP / computerised inventory system (e.g. Acumatica,
SAGE Pastel Evolution, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent); strong attention to detail; sound documentation, ICT,
and reconciliation skills; high integrity and strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
● Other requirements: Valid class 4 driver’s licence; able to undertake heavy lifting and work at heights;
willing to work in remote site locations under minimum supervision.
