BACKGROUND
The Gonarezhou Conservation Trust (GCT) is a conservation partnership between the Zimbabwe Parks
and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) and the Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS), established
to manage Gonarezhou National Park, one of Zimbabwe’s most iconic wilderness areas and its second
largest national park. Spanning over 5,000 km² in the south-east Lowveld, Gonarezhou forms a core
part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area (GLTFCA).

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance & Administration Manager (FAM) to join our
Senior Management Team. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing finance, human
resources, procurement, administration, and compliance functions.
Reporting to the Trust Director, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring financial
integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with statutory and donor requirements, while
contributing to organisational strategy and governance.
The role will be based at Chipinda Pools Headquarters in Gonarezhou National Park.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Strategy
• Contribute to organisational strategy as a member of the Senior Management Team
• Provide financial and administrative insights to support programme delivery
• Lead, mentor and build capacity within finance, HR, procurement and administrative teams

Financial Management
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management, Board, and donors
• Oversee cash flow management, investments, and financial risk mitigation
• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with accounting standards
• Manage audits and liaise with external auditors
• Oversee asset management and maintain a centralised asset register

Administration & Operations
• Oversee procurement, inventory, HR, and financial systems
• Ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement processes
• Manage contracts, insurance, and administrative services
• Strengthen systems and drive constant improvement and operational efficiency

Human Resources
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance organisational culture
• Ensure compliance with labour laws

Compliance & Governance
• Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and donor requirements
• Support governance processes and policy development
• Monitor organisational risk and implement mitigation strategies

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Professional Qualifications & Experience
• Chartered Accountant or equivalent (CA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)
• 6–8 years’ experience, including at least 3 years in senior management
• Strong knowledge of Zimbabwean financial regulations and labour law
• Proven experience managing donor-funded projects
• Experience leading finance, HR, procurement, and administrative functions
• Strong systems and process improvement experience
• Proficiency in accounting systems (Acumatica advantageous)
